Learning videos from SGBS

Learning Tools from SGBS

We have available for you two learning videos produced by the Strathclyde Graduate Business School who offer courses which include Decision Explorer as part of strategic planning. These files are available in two forms for you. You can either watch them online, and we have tried to make them work sensibly, or for the best experience you can download an image of the CD as produced by Strathclyde.

Training video – Decision Explorer from basics to strategy

Video grabVideo grab

This training video is presented by Professor Colin Eden, and takes you from the basics through to analysis and setting strategy.

Browser version (updated 2015)

CD ISO image (what is this?) Size is 152M

(Web version currently offline for compatibility update with modern browsers)

(This video works okay, but after each section you must use the “back” button to return to the main index) The overview also lacks the slides that appear in the CD version.

Training video – Structuring Argument

Video 1

This training video is presented by Professor Fran Ackermann, and shows how to build maps and use Decision Explorer. It shows how to interview and make a model of the discussion.

CD ISO image (what is this?) Size is 256M

What is an ISO image?

An ISO image is a file which contains the contents of a CD. It can be used to burn your own copy of the CD, just like the original. This will give you the best experience of the content, instead of having to download each video separately over the internet.

To ensure integrity, we have zipped the ISO file. If the zip verifies okay, then the ISO will be good. If you get Zip errors, clear your browser cache and try again.

Making a CD from the ISO download

Making a CD from an ISO image file should not be hard, but it isn’t as simple as it should be. If you have CD burning software, then you can probably use that, but unfortunately this is not something we can provide support on at all. If you can’t make an image, please ask your support people for assistance.
